What is involved with an estimate?

During an in-home or virtual estimate, a salesperson will visit your home and estimate the weight and size of all of your belongings that you will be moving. They’ll also discuss move details such as dates, packing services, package pricing, etc., and address any questions you may have. At the end of the visit, your salesperson will draft a customized written estimate for your review.

What can’t we bring?

There are several items that moving companies typically won't allow you to bring during a move due to safety and legal regulations. These include: Hazardous Materials: Flammable, explosive, or corrosive items such as gasoline, propane tanks, paints, fire extinguishers, chemicals, or cleaning supplies. Perishable Items: Fresh food, plants, or anything that could spoil or attract pests during transport. Valuables: Important documents, cash, jewelry, and other irreplaceable items should be kept with you during the move. Weapons and Ammunition: Firearms, ammunition, and other weaponry are restricted by many moving companies. Pets: Animals must travel with their owners and are not allowed in moving trucks. Personal Items: Anything you might need immediately (like medications or toiletries) should travel with you. It's always a good idea to check with your moving company for their specific policies.Opting for a pause temporarily halts the service, while canceling brings your subscription to an end. Remember, our billing cycles operate on a 31-day period, and any remaining unused days can be saved for future use.

Are there any extra fees I need to be aware of?

Some moving companies will charge for things like: strangely shaped or awkward items; a residence that’s not easily accessible for a large moving truck or van and requires shuttle service; condos or high-rises with elevator and load restrictions; and loads that need to be hand carried over a certain distance. You may also be expected to pay fuel surcharges or transportation surcharges. If your items need to be stored, additional fees like warehouse handling charges may apply. Find out in advance so you can be prepared and avoid any surprises.
